Thanks to better design, faster performance, longer battery life, and better camera, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has been well received by users around the world and has received many positive reviews. With two new telephoto cameras (with 3x optical zoom and 10x optical zoom), this phone has been able to offer much better zoom performance compared to the Galaxy S20 Ultra. However, with all these interpretations, the camera of this phone could not come out of the proud DxOMark test and the score it got is lower than the score of the Galaxy S20 Ultra!
In a survey conducted by DxOMark on the Galaxy S21 Ultra camera, the phone scored an overall score of 121. By comparison, last year the Galaxy S20 Ultra managed to get 126 points from the fourth version of this benchmark test. If we want to look at the scores obtained by these two phones in more detail, we should mention that the Galaxy S21 Ultra scored 128 points in the photo section, 98 points in the movie section, and 76 points in the magnification section. Last year, the S20 Ultra scored 128 points in the photo category, 106 in the film category, and 88 in the zoom section. Therefore, according to DxOMark reviews, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is not as good as the S20 Ultra in terms of video and zoom quality.
However, the question is, why did the Galaxy S21 Ultra score lower, despite its improvements in camera hardware and magnification range? DxOMark does not seem to be too impressed with the two telephoto cameras and believes that these new zoom cameras are not much better than the S20 Ultra 5x zoom camera. According to the results of this DxOMark benchmark test, the extra effects and noise in the S21 Ultra photos have reduced the score of this phone.
Overall, the Galaxy S21 Ultra not only scored lower on the DxOMark camera than its predecessor but also lagged behind many of last year’s flagships. The score of this phone is lower than the other 16 smartphones, among which we can mention the following models:
